Pinewood Derby Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who is invited to race?
A: Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to come race either live
or by proxy.
Q: How much does it cost to race?
A: The cost is $10 per car live. $15 per car proxy for $10 if you
use the
Legend Car Carriers to ship your car in. Make sure
and include the cost of return shipping for proxy cars.
Q: Is this a league race?
A: YES. This will be a highly competitive series. You
don't have to be a pro to come race! Racing against the best
in the country will help you drastically improve your own personal
speeds.
Q: Is there a division for Rookies?
A: NO! You only get better by pushing yourself!
Q: Are there prizes?
A: Trophies will be given to the top 3 at the end of the
series in November. A DerbyDad4Hire sponsorship will be given to the
series champion. At least 2 other builders will receive
sponsorships. These builders will be chosen by certain
performance and qualities that we are looking for to represent our
products. We will also give away some quality Jewkes
Engineering products like 91 and 93 SGA Axles and Edge Pure Stockrs
to the top racers each month. Sponsorship for the series
winner will include: 6 sets of 91/93 SGA's, 6 sets of Edge Pure
Stockrs, 2 sets of Holeshot XS2's, 2 sets of 30 SNA needle axles, 2
sets of Edge Super Stockrs, 6 SSG Premium Sugar Pine Blocks, and a
15% discount for personal use from DerbyDad4Hire.com for 2011.
The other racers that get selected for sponsorship will receive race
supply packages and discount codes. Each sponsored racer will
be expected to promote DerbyDad4Hire and Jewkes Engineering products
on the internet and at live races. Sponsored racers will be
also be given full support with tuning help and track time.
Sponsored racers will receive 50% discount on all race entries in
any ECD race.
Q: Can I relube my Pinewood Derby car during the race?
A: No. No work can be performed to a car once the car is
teched in except for cleaning the wheels. Please race fair.
Q: Is there a show division?
A: No.
Q: Can I test my Pinewood Derby car before the race?
A: YES! The track is open for testing on a first come
first serve basis. TRACK TESTING WILL NO
LONGER BE ALLOWED ON THE DAY OF THE RACE! Call to schedule a time to come and test.
Q: Is it safe to ship a car and how do I
do it?
A: It is very safe and simple to ship cars. League racers race
by proxy every month. The most affordable and simple way I
